Genealogies of the Holy Bible

All the begats, those tedious scriptures from the Bible, that make the readers' eyes glaze over while they skim through the text to find where the story picks up again.
The genealogies listed may be tedious but they have importance to the study of scripture.
And not just because the ancient tribes thought enough to list them or because so much of their tribal law and custom was based on the genealogical relations to the old prophets.
Many of the relationships of the characters in the Bible stories take on a new live when you can see them in relationship to others of the time. The family connections become clearer as well as some of the legal issues.
With chapter and verse for every name on the tree it makes a handy study guide.
This version is for the casual Bible-reading Christian of most protestant faiths.
Many versions of the Bible are used as references as well as supplementary material from Ginzberg's Legends of the Jews which has already made it into Christian lore.

Universal Chronological Specialized

A stamp catalog designed by collectors rather than dealers, for a change.
Arranged chronologically rather than some artificial predetermined numbering scheme, which often falls apart in practice, this catalog breaks down all the varieties of different stamp issues in a logical fashion.
The disuniformity of other catalogs is avoided by the simple cataloging rules.
In fact, they are so simple that anyone can catalog the newer issues themselves, without having to wait for some dealer to number the issues for them.
Sets are arranged by logic, rather than an artificial numbering system, and made cohesive by their similarities.

A couple are thrown together seemingly by chance, but it seems there are no coincidences.
They were brought together because it is time, once again, for them to try and save the planet from another ages-old cycle of reversal.
Previous attempts had resulted in failure but with the help of some Native American spirits and ghosts from their past, it might work this time. A few hints from the "watchers" doesn't hurt, either.
And it is not just the physical aspects they have to overcome: there are those opposed to the success of their mission. As in all great games, there is an opposition team. Some will profit greatly if the world fails.
The ending of the cycle is rapidly approaching and the couple, joined by "old friends" from the past make the last great push toward success.
Hopefully, they have all the pieces in place.

Tervan Andrisn arrives at the Imperial Academy on a math scholarship though he does not have any interest in the subject. His math ability is more intuitive than mechanical, but he uses this opportunity to get a higher education and take up his chosen field of teaching somewhere back on his home planet.
As happens frequently in such situations, he meets a young woman and sparks fly. As the relationship develops, politics intervenes in the form of the Crown Prince being murdered. She reveals that her brother has been named the new heir to the Empire and she fears they will be forced apart. How could he not know she was a princess? Easy, her mother was only a concubine of the Emperor - and he had more than a few of those, each with children - and was made the legitimate wife when her son was named heir.
The Emperor insists they must not grow further together, so she and Tervan plan to elope. As you can imagine, the Emperor takes a dim view of this situation. They are captured and he is exiled. How can they ever be together?
Simple: he merely has to return and overthrow the Emperor.

The Last Voyage
by
Terry Martin

This is the classic tale of Christopher Columbus' voyage to "discover" America. Even though he feels compelled to accomplish
this feat he is plagued with feelings of doom and failure.
An unhistorical element is Amerigo Vespucci being one of the criminals
on this first voyage (in truth, he was not).
The ship and the islands get in on the story and the end resolves the title: less
than a month after completing the voyage to discover the New World, the Santa Maria ran aground on a sand bar and was left
to rot. Not a fitting end for such an important vessel, which is the vehicle for the tale.
